Music in the Parks 2014
(May 23, 2014) The Riverhead High School Music Department had a great trip to Music in the Parks this year. Eighty students from the music department traveled to Six Flags America in Maryland to perform for some very accomplished adjudicators. The Chamber Orchestra received an Excellent Rating; the Jazz Band received 2nd place with an Excellent Rating; the Chamber Choir received 1st place with a Superior Rating and Best Overall Choir. Taylor Burgess, who plans to attend the Conservatory of Music at SUNY Purchase next year, received the Outstanding Vocalist Award
for her performance in Wade in The Water by Moses Hogan.

This concert marked the last performance by seniors in the graduating class of 2014. The seniors were recognized. In addition, the seniors who were freshmen when Mrs. Tishim began her tenure at RHS and they thanked and recognized her in return.
